Toyota Carina Maintenance
Preventive maintenance is a must for your Toyota Carina. Here is some professional?s advice for Automotive Service Excellence. Some of the following tips can be performed by any weekend warrior; others require the skilled hands of an auto technician.
Engine Performance
Some engine problems like hard starts and diminished power can be easily recognized. You should also Replace dirty filters (air, fuel, PCV, etc.).
Oil
Change your oil and oil filter as specified in your manual ?usually in every 3,000 miles.
Cooling System
The cooling system?s level, condition, and concentration should be checked periodically. You should not remove the radiator cap when the engine is hot! The condition of drive belts, clamps should be also checked.
Windshield Wipers
You should replace old blades. In winters, purchase rubber-clad (winter) blades.
Heater/Defroster
The heater and defroster must be in good working condition for passenger comfort and driver visibility.
Battery
The only accurate way to detect a weak battery is with professional equipment. However, you should clean all surfaces and do re-tighten all connections. If battery caps are removable, check fluid level monthly.
Lights
Inspect all lights and bulbs and clean road grime from all lenses and never use a dry rag coz it can cause scratches.
Tires
You should check Tire?s uneven wearing, and cupping, also check the sidewalls for cuts and nicks. Check tire pressure and rotate it as recommended.
Emergencies
Always Carry gloves, boots, blankets, flares, a flashlight, and a cell phone.

You should inspect your brakes at regular intervals according to your Toyota’s recommended maintenance schedules. When you?re on the open highway, use your Toyota?s cruise control to get better fuel efficiency. You should only accelerate when its need to. Avoid jackrabbit starts and maintain smooth progression the road .Keep your windows closed and use a/c if needed to decrease drag.
